Challenge Family The Championship has confirmed it has doubled the 2021 prize purse for the middle distance event and the world’s top professional athletes will compete for a share of a €100k prize purse on 22 May.
In addition, the male and female champions will receive a week’s accommodation for two at the x-bionic stratosphere, the most luxurious of the x-bionic sphere’s hotel rooms, with all the facilities of the Olympic training centre at their disposal. Places second to tenth will each receive a week in a Junior Suite.
“This is a world-class event in a world-class venue featuring the sport’s top professional athletes and it’s important the prize money reflects the prestige of the event and provides athletes with a pay day that is representative of their achievement,” said Challenge Family CEO, Jort Vlam. “I’d like to extend a personal thanks to our partners at x-bionic sphere for their support. I have no doubt the athletes will make the most of the opportunity of a week’s training at one of the leading venues in the world. x-bionic sphere was created to offer athletes the most up-to-date equipped Olympic sports resort and the facilities are second to none.”
